Life is life—
it keeps moving at its own pace.
We give it meaning,
bind it
into days, dates, and years.
We fill it with colors—
of joy and sorrow.
Relationships are formed and broken.
Sometimes success arrives,
sometimes failure does.
We do not really stop;
we simply keep moving,
keep performing our actions.
And somewhere along the way, we forget—
Who are we?
Where have we come from?
Where are we going?
What are we trying to earn?
And what will we finally carry with us?
Come, in this New Year,
let us pause for reflection.
This time, let us truly know ourselves.
We were born with a return ticket,
only the date is unknown—
the day of our departure.
Even God did not stay here forever,
and neither are we meant to.
Come, let us rise above
the counting of 25–26,
and do something genuinely new this time.
Come, let us meet ourselves again—
the self scattered among others.
Come, together with others,
let us recreate ourselves anew.
Because we are a society,
and society is made of people.
If we exist, people exist;
if people exist, we exist.
Come, let us place something
of ourselves in one another.
Come, together, let us create something new.
Come, let us take a vow—
and offer the New Year
a new promise.
